Junction City, KY-May 17, 2013- A slow drizzle of rain started falling at around 5:30 p.m. at Ponderosa Speedway on Friday afternoon and continued to fall, and with a forecast for more predicted around 10:00 p.m., the call was made at 6:15 p.m. by track promoters Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz to have cancel the racing program scheduled for Friday evening May 17 with race teams still filing into the pit area.
All general admission tickets sold and pit passes purchased are good at any remaining event for the 2013 season at the track and all patrons have to do is pay the difference if there is an increase in price due to a special event. All holders of general admission tickets and pit passes must have their ticket or pit pass armband to trade for new ones, no exceptions.
The 3rd Annual Weekend Warrior 30 for the D&D Pallet Recyclers Sportsman division has been rescheduled to Friday May 31, while the $800 special for the Smith Automotive Machine Shop FASTRAK Late Models have been reset as part of the Spring Showdown on Friday May 24.
The next event at Ponderosa Speedway will be on Friday May 24 and will be the 1st Annual Spring Showdown, paying $3,000 to win for Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models and $800 to win for Smith Automotive Machine Shop FASTRAK Late Models. Also in action on Friday May 24 will be Bluegrass Drug Store Modifieds, D&D Pallet Recyclers Sportsman, and Airport Road Salvage Yard Four Cylinders.
Activities for the Friday May 24 event will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m, while the general admission area opens at 5:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will be at 7:00 p.m., while practice laps will begin at 7:20 p.m. Bob Allen Motor Mall time trials will begin at 7:45 p.m., with racing set for the green flag at 8:30 p.m. All times listed are EDT. Ticket prices for the May 24 Spring Showdown event in the general admission area will be $17 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12, with children ages 5 and under free. A pit pass will be $35.
