Ponderosa /Richmond Collect to Assist Moore, OK Disaster Victims; Season Passes Also To Be Given Away

Junction City, KY-May 22, 2013- Officials with Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY and Richmond Raceway in Richmond, KY are excited to announce a promotion to help assist the victims of the horrible weather-related disaster in Moore, Oklahoma earlier this week.

For Friday May 24 and Saturday May 25, Ponderosa Speedway and Richmond Raceway have not only teamed up for a $24,000 racing weekend with the Spring Showdown and Rain Dodger 40 events, but have also teamed up to raise money for the Moore, Oklahoma tornado victims.  During intermission at both individual tracks on Friday and Saturday night, racers will visit through the general admission area with their helmets to collect any donations people are able to give.  The money collected at Ponderosa Speedway and Richmond Raceway will be sent to benefit the disaster  victims through an organization known as IDES (International Disaster Emergency Service).  This is the same organization the great racers and fans from Richmond sent donations to for the Joplin, Missouri tornado. Also, if race fans are in attendance at Ponderosa Speedway on Friday night and bring their admission ticket with them to Richmond Raceway on Saturday night, there name will go into a drawing at intermission on Saturday evening that we will see two lucky race fans win a remainder of the season pass to Ponderosa Speedway and two race fans receive a remainder of the season pass to Richmond Raceway.

The race events of the weekend will see Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY present the Spring Showdown on Friday May 24, paying $3,000 to win for Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models and $800 to win to for Smith Automotive Machine Shop FASTRAK Late Models, along with Bluegrass Drug Store Modifieds, D&D Pallet Recyclers Sportsman, and Airport Road Salvage Yard Four Cylinders.  Racing on Saturday May 25 at Richmond Raceway in Richmond, KY will see the Rain Dodger 40 be contested, paying $3,000 to win for Coyote 100.7 Super Late Models, plus action for the Tax Wise Open Wheel Modifieds, Sportsman, and Four Cylinders.
