Ponderosa Speedway Off Until Red Clay Bash on Friday July 12

Junction City, KY-June 23, 2013- Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Larry Yantz and track co-promoters Chad and Sarah Yantz are going to take the next couple of weeks off in preparation for the “Red Clay Bash-The Night Before the Butterball Event” on Friday July 12 that will see Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models race for $3,000 to win and Bluegrass Drug Store Modifieds race for $1,000 to win, along with Smith Automotive Machine Shop FASTRAK Late Models and D&D Pallet Recyclers Sportsman..

The track is closed this Friday June 28 due to the NASCAR weekend events at Kentucky Speedway in Sparta, KY and will be closed on Friday July 5 for the local presentation of the Lincoln County Fair.

The next event at Ponderosa Speedway will be on Friday July 12 and will be the 2nd Annual Red Clay Bash-The Night Before the Butterball, which will see the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models race for $3,000 to win in a 40 lap main event and the Bluegrass Drug Store Modifieds race for $1,000 to win in a 25 lap main event.  Also on the racing docket for July 12 will be the Smith Automotive Machine Shop FASTRAK Late Model racing for $600 to win (20 lap main event) and the D&D Pallet Recyclers Sportsman racing for $300 to win (15 lap feature event.).  The event has the Night Before the Butterball added to it as it will take place the evening prior to the Butterball Memorial at Richmond Raceway on July 13, paying $7,500 to win for Super Late Models.  RACEceivers are mandatory in all divisions and may be rented at the track during driver registration and pill draw, which closes at 7:00 p.m.

Admission prices for the July 12 Red Clay Bash-The Night Before the Butterball event will be released in an upcoming press release concerning the event, as well the feature event payout schedule for the night’s activities as well.

Activities for the Friday July 12 event will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m, while the general admission area opens at 5:00 p.m.  The drivers meeting will be at 7:00 p.m., while practice laps will begin at 7:30 p.m.  Bob Allen Motor Mall time trials will begin at 7:45 p.m., with racing set for the green flag at 8:30 p.m.  All times listed are EDT.

Ponderosa Speedway last raced on June 21 and feature event winners that evening included Victor Lee of Danville, KY in Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models, Jimmy Payne of Glasgow, KY in Bluegrass Drug Store Modifieds, Todd Coffman of Junction City, KY in Smith Automotive Machine Shop FASTRAK Late Models, and Donnie Sullivan of Stanford, KY in D&D Pallet Recyclers Sportsman.
