Ponderosa Speedway Back to School Night, Plus Racing Action, on Friday August 2

Junction City, KY-July 28, 2013- Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Larry Yantz and track co-promoters Chad and Sarah Yantz will kick off the month of August with Back to School Night for children, plus a full a full night of racing action at the 3/8 mile D-shaped clay oval known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” on Friday August 2.

For the Back to School Night at Ponderosa Speedway, all children ages 12 and under will be admitted FREE in the general admission.  Of note, the State HWY 127 Yard Sale is taking place this coming weekend, so race fans and race teams may want to allow themselves some extra travel time to the track on Friday evening.

Ponderosa Speedway will present a full racing program of competition on Back to School Night on Friday August 2 that will feature the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models racing for $1,200 to win in a 25 lap main event and Bluegrass Drug Store Modifieds racing for $800 to win in a 20 lap main event.  Also on the racing schedule for Friday August 2 will be the Smith Automotive Machine Shop FASTRAK Late Models racing for $600 to win in a 20 lap feature contest and the D&D Pallet Recyclers Sportsman racing for $300 to win in a 15 lap feature event.  RACEceivers are mandatory in all divisions and may be rented at the track during driver registration and pill draw, which closes at 7:00 p.m.

Activities for the Friday August 2 event will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m, while the general admission area opens at 5:00 p.m.  The drivers meeting will be at 7:00 p.m., while practice laps will begin at 7:30 p.m.  Bob Allen Motor Mall time trials will begin at 7:45 p.m., with racing set for the green flag at 8:30 p.m.  All times listed are EDT.  Ticket prices for the Friday August 2 racing program in the general admission area will be $12 for adults, while all children ages 12 and under will be admitted free in the general admission area.  A pit pass will be $30.
