Junction City, KY-August 14, 2013- Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Larry Yantz and track co-promoters Chad and Sarah Yantz are pleased to announce that a partnership had been secured with Neat’s Service Center that will make the Dunnville, KY based business the presenting sponsor for the 6th Annual Friday Night Rumble. The 6th Annual Friday Night Rumble presented by Neat’s Service Center will take place on Friday August 23 and see the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models race for $7,500 to win, along with a full racing program for Bluegrass Drug Store Modifieds and D&D Pallet Recyclers Sportsman at the 3/8 mile D-shaped red clay oval better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring”. The Smith Automotive Machine Shop FASTRAK Late Models will have the night off on August 23. There will be no racing at the track until this event on Friday August 23.
The Friday Night Rumble in past seasons has been the night before the traditional Fall Classic event, however in 2013, the event is set to be a stand-alone event. This same race was contested in 2012 on this same weekend as the Colston Paving 60 and was won by Dustin Neat of Dunnville, KY on an evening that saw 37 Super Late Models, 32 Modifieds, and 17 Sportsman in competition. Ricky Arms of Moss, TN won the Modified feature that evening, while Derek Bottoms of Taylorsville, KY won the Sportsman feature that evening. Other previous Friday Night Rumble event winners include Jason Keltner of Campbellsville, KY in 2007 and 2008, Jordan Bland of Campbellsville, KY in 2009, Mike Marlar of Winfield, TN in 2010, and Mike Jewell of Scottsburg, IN in 2011.
Ponderosa Speedway will present the 6th Annual Friday Night Rumble presented by Neat’s Service Center on Friday August 23 and will feature the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models racing for $7,500 to win and $400 to start in a 60 lap main event. Bluegrass Drug Store Modifieds will racing that evening as well for $800 to win in a 20 lap main event, while D&D Pallet Recyclers Sportsman will race for $300 to win in a 15 lap feature contest, with the Smith Automotive Machine Shop FASTRAK Late Models having the night off. RACEceivers are mandatory in all divisions and may be rented at the track during driver registration and pill draw, which closes at 7:00 p.m. There will be NO entry fee for Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models for this event. The Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Model main event will start 22 cars, with the possibility of a 23rd starter if one of the drivers currently in the top five in Super Late Model track points does not race his way into the starting field via a heat race or B-main.
Activities for the Friday August 23 event will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m, while the general admission area opens at 5:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will be at 7:00 p.m., while practice laps will begin at 7:20 p.m. Bob Allen Motor Mall time trials will begin at 7:45 p.m., with racing set for the green flag at 8:30 p.m. All times listed are EDT. Ticket prices for the Friday August 23 6th Annual Friday Night Rumble presented by Neat’s Service Center racing program in the general admission area will be $25 for adults, with children ages 12 and under FREE with a paid adult (this is for the remainder of the season on children ages 12 and under). A pit pass will be $40.
