Ponderosa Speedway and Southern Nationals Bonus Series Makes Ruling for Fall Classic on October 11

Junction City, KY (September 30, 2014) Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Jerry Denson and Southern Nationals Bonus Series Race Director Chris Tilley would like to announce the following rule decision for the 24th Annual Fall Classic event at Ponderosa Speedway on Saturday October 11. Originally scheduled as a topless event for Super Late Models that would have seen the division race with the roofs removed from the cars, a joint decision has been made by Ponderosa Speedway and the Southern Nationals Bonus Series to NOT have the Super Late Model division race topless that weekend after several drivers voiced concerns about safety issues.  With that said, all regular Southern Nationals Bonus Series body rules will now be in effect for this event. “We would like to thank the drivers that voiced their concerns over racing without the tops on the race cars and we (the track and series) have made a joint decision that we feel all the way around insures the success of the events at Ponderosa Speedway not only on Saturday October 11, but on Friday October 10 as well”, stated Southern Nationals Bonus Series Race Director Chris Tilley. The Southern Nationals Bonus Series sanction the full weekend of racing action at Ponderosa Speedway on Friday October 10 and Saturday October 11.  On Friday October 10, the tour will sanction the 7th Annual Friday Night Rumble event, that will pay $2,500 to win for Super Late Models, along with the track’s Modified division racing for $1,500 to win, Pro Late Models racing for $1,000 to win sponsored by Jay Construction and Restoration, and Sportsman racing for $800 to win. The weekend will conclude on Saturday October 11 as the tour will sanction the track’s 24th Annual Fall Classic, which will pay $7,500 to win for Super Late Models, along with Modified division racing for $3,000 to win, Pro Late Models $1,500 to win, and Sportsman $1,000 to win.
