Ponderosa Speedway OReilly Battle of the Bluegrass Junebug Memorial This Friday May 16
Junction City, Kentucky-May 11, 2008-Kentuckys Baddest Bullring, Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY will return to action this Friday evening, May 16, at the 3/8 mile clay oval located on the Boyle/Lincoln County border, promoted by Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz. The OReilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series will be in competition for the 9th Annual HughJunebug Rowland Memorial, paying $3,000 to win for Super Late Models.
The racing program scheduled for Friday May 16 will see the OReilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series Super Late Model division in a full program of practice, Racing Optics time trials, Wayne Bowen Racing Supply, K&N Performance Engineering, Graphic Impressions, and Real Racing Wheels heats, B-Mains, and the 40 lap, $3,000 to win OReilly A-Main 9th Annual Hugh “Junebug Rowland Memorial race. Also in action on Friday May 16 will be the Kentucky National Guard Pro Late Models, Hardees Modifieds, and SkyTower Power Race Engines Sportsman in weekly racing series action.
Activities for the Friday May 16 racing event will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m., with the general admission area open at 5:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will take place at 6:45 p.m., with hot laps at 7:15 p.m., time trials at 7:45 p.m., and racing set for the green flag at or before 8:30 p.m. For May 16, general admission will be $15, children ages 6 to 12 will be $5, children under age 6 will be free, and a pit pass will be $30.
Ponderosa Speedway last raced on May 9 and feature event winners that evening included Victor Lee of Stanford, KY in Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models, P.J. Feistritzer of Danville, KY in Kentucky National Guard Pro Late Models, Joey Kramer of Hanover, IN in Hardees Modifieds, and Rick King of Junction City, KY in SkyTower Power Race Engines Sportsman win.
Track championship points leaders heading into the Friday May 16 racing program are Michael Chilton of Salvisa, KY in Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models, P.J. Feistritzer of Danville, KY in Kentucky National Guard Pro Late Models, Russ Gabbert of Berea, KY in Hardees Modifieds, and Bartley Grant of Berea, KY in SkyTower Power Race Engines Sportsman.
Ponderosa Speedway is located just off of Phillips Lane on the Boyle/Lincoln County border, outside of Junction City, KY, just minutes from Danville, KY.
