Red Buck Cigars Presents Friday Night Rumble October 2; Bill Pierce/Trenton Rayborn Memorial Fall Classic October 3 at Ponderosa Speedway

Junction City, KY-September 20, 2009- Kentuckys Baddest Bullring, Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY, will close the 2009 racing season with pair of must-attend special events for racers and fans alike on Friday October 2 and Saturday October 3.

The 2009 season finale at Ponderosa Speedway will see Red Buck Cigars present the 3rd Annual Friday Night Rumble on Friday October 2 and the Bill Pierce/Trenton Rayborn Memorial Fall Classic on Saturday October 3.

On Friday October 2, Red Buck Cigars will present the 3rd Annual Friday Night Rumble, paying $2,500 to win and $250 to start the 30 lap Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Model feature event. Also on October 2, the Clayton Homes Modifieds will be in action in a 25 lap, $1,000 to win main event, along with the Kentucky National Guard Pro Late Models racing 25 laps in their main event, paying $600 to win. This will be a track points event for all three divisions. The Bob Allen Motor Mall Sportsman division will not be in competition. The Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Model Red Buck Cigars Friday Night Rumble winner will be guaranteed a starting spot in the Bill Pierce/Trenton Rayborn Memorial Fall Classic on Saturday October 3.

On Saturday October 3, Red Buck Cigars will present the Bill Pierce/Trenton Rayborn Memorial Fall Classic, being contested in memory of former Ponderosa Speedway racer Donald Rayborn's father-in-law Bill Pierce and son Trenton Rayborn. The Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models will race 50 laps for $7,500 to win and $350 to start. This will be the highest paying to win Super Late Model event contested at Ponderosa Speedway since Don O'Neal won the $9,000 to win Fall Classic in 1998. Also in competition on October 3 will be the Clayton Homes Modifieds in a 25 lap, $1,000 to win feature event and the Bob Allen Motor Mall Sportsman division will contest a 20 lap, $500 to win main event. This will also be a track points event for all three divisions. The Pro Late Model division will not be in competition.

Activities for the Friday October 2 Friday Night Rumble event will see the pit area open at 4:00 p.m. and grandstand area open at 5:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will be at 6:45 p.m., with practice at 7:00 p.m. Time trials will go at 7:45 p.m. and racing will take the green flag at or before 8:30 p.m. Ticket prices will be $15 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12, and free for children under age 6. A pit pass will be $30.

Activities for the Saturday October 3 Bill Pierce/Trenton Rayborn Memorial Fall Classic will all gates open one hour earlier, with the pit area open at 3:00 p.m and the grandstand area will open at 4:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will be at 6:30 p.m., with practice at 6:45 p.m. Time trials will begin at 7:30, with racing at or before 8:15 p.m. Ticket prices will be $25 for adults, $10 for children ages 6 to 12, and free for children under age 6. A pit pass will be $35.

Ponderosa Speedway lasted raced on Friday September 4 and feature event winners included Victor Lee of Danville, KY in Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models, Todd Coffman of Junction City, KY in Kentucky National Guard Pro Late Models, J.T. Ayers of New Haven, KY in Clayton Homes Modifieds, and Gerald Haynes, Jr. of Somerset, KY in Bob Allen Motor Mall Sportsman.

Current track championship point leaders heading into the Friday October 2 Friday Night Rumble racing program are Victor Lee of Stanford, KY in Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Models, Jeremy Hines of Seymour, IN in Kentucky National Guard Pro Late Models, Randy Turpin of Lebanon, KY in Clayton Homes Modifieds, and Bartley Grant of Berea, KY in Bob Allen Motor Mall Sportsman.
