Ponderosa Speedway Announces Quartet of Big Super Late Model Events for the 2015 Season

Junction City, KY-November 1, 2014- Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Jerry Denson is pleased to announce a quartet of mega-events for the Super Late Model division that will be on the track’s 2014 racing schedule at the 3/8 mile D-shaped oval known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring”.

The first of these events will take place on Friday April 3, 2015 and will be the track’s 3rd Annual Spring Showdown.  This event will be sanctioned by Ray Cook’s Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals presented by Schaeffer Racing Oil and will see the Super Late Models race for $4,000 to win.  Mike Marlar of Winfield, TN won the 2014 edition of this event as the popular Ray Cook promoted series made its first visit to the track this season.

The second big Super Late Model event will take place on Friday May 8, 2015 and will feature the World of Outlaws Late Model Series in action for the first-time ever at Ponderosa Speedway, with the Super Late Models racing for $10,000 to win.  It is only the fifth time in World of Outlaws Late Model Series history that the tour has visited a track in the state of Kentucky.

The next big event for Super Late Models is set for Friday August 21, 2015 and will be the 12th Annual John Bradshaw Memorial, with the Super Late Models racing for $15,000 to win.  This event was sanctioned by the Ultimate Super Late Model Series in 2014 and Mike Marlar of Winfield, TN also taking the checkered flag in this contest.

Lastly, the showcase event for many seasons at Ponderosa Speedway, the track’s Fall Classic, will feature a historical twist.  The 25th edition of the Fall Classic at Ponderosa Speedway will be the richest stock car event in the history of the facility as Super Late Models will race for a record $25,000 to win.  The dates of the event are October 8, 9, and 10 of the 2015 season, with a raindate set for October 22, 23, and 24.  The most recently scheduled Fall Classic fell to inclement weather and could not be rescheduled.

Also, there will be special events for the Modified, Pro Late Model, and Sportsman divisions as well during the 2015 racing campaign.  The track will release its full 2015 schedule in the coming weeks.
