Mahoney Wheels to Ultimate Battle of the Bluegrass 19th Annual Pete Abell Memorial at Ponderosa Speedway
Junction City, KY (July 23, 2016) Ponderosa Speedway would present its first racing program under new promoter Jamie Stumph and it would be the 19th Annual Pete Abell Memorial for the Ultimate Battle of the Bluegrass Series Super Late Models and Cody Mahoney of Hanover, IN would pick up the victory for his first win in the event and the $3,000 payday.  Trent Young of Hopkinsville, KY would score the victory in Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series action, while other feature winners included Hudson O’Neal of Martinsville, IN in Pro Late Models and Pherman Stewart of Manchester, KY in KDRA Super Stocks. <<Read More>>

Ponderosa Speedway Rolls Back to Action Friday Night, July 1st with “Topless 40”, $1,500 to Win for Crate Late Models
Junction City, KY (June 23, 2016) After two Super Late Model special events kicked off the 2016 season at Ponderosa Speedway, actions returns this Friday night, July 1st with a third special event to continue racing action at the famed 3/8 mile oval dubbed as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring.” After being rained out on May 20th and on June 3rd, the “Topless 40” is scheduled to roll Friday night, July 1st with a top prize of $1,500 to win for the “Sweet Beans ‘N Things” Crate Late Models in a 40 lap, topless A-Main feature. Several of the region’s top Crate Late Model competitors are expected to compete in the 40 lap event, including drivers from Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Indiana, and others. NO ENTRY FEE will be required for this event. Only a $25 pre-race tech/transponder rental fee will be in effect. RACEceivers will be mandatory. Tire rules for the event will be Hoosier 1350 or harder, American Racer 48 or harder, or any legal Fastrak, NeSmith, or other legal sanctioned series tire. This includes all front and rear tires. Grooving and siping will be allowed, but no covering of tires or compound numbers will be allowed. Shock rule for the event will be open. <<Read More>>
